Thank You

Hi all- Mommy here- just wanted to do a quick post to let everybody know that we do read each and every post (all 700+ of them) and cannot thank everyone enough for the support and love. Right now our (me & Jeremy’s) goal is to make sure that Hannah is healthy and cured. We appreciate everybody’s outpour of love and support through this trying time in our lives. We take everybody’s concerns and suggestions into consideration. As we are sure that you are aware of the support has been amazing as well as overwhelming. We do want to emphasize however that our goal is to make Hannah healthy. Please do continue with your support. Jeremy and I find much comfort in knowing that our community, friends and family are behind us through this journey. I also wanted to just note on Hannah briefly: she has said to me that she is not afraid of losing her hair. She doesnt mind if people stare. She is amazingly strong and beautiful. She wants to set an example and be an advocate in the future. Please do understand that Hannah is fully aware of what she faces and Jeremy and I have handled this extremely delicatley. One other thing I would like to share before I log off is the compassion, love and support that I have recieved from my husband. Without you Jeremy, we would just be another statistic. I love you! Hannah baby-mommy loves you so much! Thank you for making me so strong! In the end we will sit back and laugh, cry and have a lot of memories to talk about. Mom and Dad…the list could go on and on…thank you so much for everything. I know that you guys want to be there for us no matter no matter what, and you have been. I am not not going to name specifics at this time, but you know what I mean. Thank you guys so much for everything! I love you! One last Thank you I need to mention is Leah and Jordon… you guys have been beyond amazing! Thank you for being there for us through all of this. These are the most trying times for us, and a Thank you is not enough. Stister… I love you!!!! Jordon…Thank you for your support and love! Obviously the list could go on and on at this point….I just want everyone to know that I am aware.Once again… THANK YOU!!!! <3 Mommy!!!!

The Latest…

Well, today was a long day. Took a trip to UCLA and met with two doctors (one that was HIGHLY recommended), Both by friends and people from various forums. It appears that a mastectomy is inevitable. According to the doctors the, remainder of the tumor is too close to the nipple to salvage it, or much of the breast tissue for that matter. We had not told Hannah exactly what a mastectomy was until today, with the help of the doctors of course. We feared that she would probablly be very upset… But she was like “let’s do this, I need to get healthy”. This was a total shock to us, we thought for sure she would cry or scream at us or something. But no, she seems to understand everything. Even the doctor stopped and asked her if she was ok.  We explained that she will loser her hair with chemotherapy and she barely flinched (she wants a new hair style anyways). I think this goes to show that children do understand alot more than we as parents think, they just don’t always listen. so, needless to say it was a huge relief for us as we do not like keeping anything from her.

Tomorrow the three of us will be going yet to another surgeon (actually two) to see if they have anything different to say. As of right now we are leaning towards UCLA as we have been most impressed with the staff there.

That’s all for now. thank you all!

Hannah’s Big Day

dsc017882None of us would have expected to see what we saw on Saturday. When we walked up to the field we noticed that there were pink ribbons and pink balloons everywhere. The team started warming up an hour before the game as usual. Then about ten minutes before the game started, both teams and coaches came out and met at the plate. The manager from the opposing team presented Hannah with a jersey signed by the entire team with words of encouragement and really slick pair of pink Oakley sunglasses. All of the girls held hands and a girl from the other team led in a prayer. After that every girl got in line and gave Hannah a big hug (I don’t think there was a dry eye in the joint).

Now for the game… Hannah threw out the first official pitch, for those of you who don’t know, Hannah has never pitched before. She did a great job though, got the ball to the catcher without hitting the ground or the batter. After that she was off to third base.dsc01799

Hannah at the plate… Hannah smacked a double to right field her first at bat and hit a single to drive in the go ahead run her second at bat. We were all afraid her nerves would get to her and she would strike out. But she was as cool as a cucumber! All of the girls did great and Silver and Black went on to win 4-2, GREAT JOB GIRLS!!dsc01817
